I have a real treat for you today....it's another senior session and this one definitely did not disappoint!
Today's session was scheduled for 5pm. Of course, we had a burst of rain move through our area around 2 o'clock. When I plan, Mother Nature laughs apparently! We were on the verge of cancelling during the rain, but it cleared out after about an hour and we decided to head out, and try to avoid the puddles. Am I ever glad we didn't reschedule- this night turned out ahhh-maz-ing!!
So without further ado....let me introduce you to Tori L!!
Tori is one of my daughter's best friends and teammate for both school and travel lacrosse. She is one of a kind...a natural beauty with strawberry blonde hair and blue-green eyes, freckles, and a gorgeous personality to match!
Her college plans include international business and Chinese language. She worries that she's "not good enough" at Chinese. She knows more words than me (I know exactly zero words in Chinese) so I think she's pretty darn fantastic!!
I almost died when she pulled out this black and white outfit complete with hat and sunglasses. Is it possible for an outfit to be so California and so New York at the same time?!
Ummm....Heck Yes!! Breakfast at Tiffany's for the win!
During our shoot, Tori's mom, Ericia, shared with me how meaningful this milestone of senior pictures is to her. Ericia shared that she didn't get to have senior pictures made when she was in high school, and she has battled metastatic breast cancer during her adult life, sometimes wondering what her future would look like at this point in her daughters' lives. We walked and talked, and she shared how happy her heart felt. She was so excited to be surrounded by all the life and color and beauty at the gardens at Zoar.
While I didn't know Ericia as a high school teenager, she has shared some pictures from her teenage years and Tori is a spitting image of her mama!
So after we toured Zoar and visited the gardens and bridge, taking photos along the way, we came back closer to home for the final part of our session. Harp's Harvest Sunflower Field is a little patch of local amazingness that definitely did not disappoint!
It's only fitting that this girl with a heart full of sunshine should have some pictures surrounded by these sunny bright flowers!
Tori- I enjoyed every part of our session and hope you will love your pictures! I am looking forward to sharing the rest of your session with you!
Thanks to the coronavirus, many joyful events have been derailed this year. Weddings, graduations, concerts, sport seasons- many things we have looked forward to for, well, nearly our entire collective lives.
As a healthcare worker and photographer, I've been conflicted about how to handle photography sessions during this time. Believe me, it's not easy to cancel sessions that are very time-sensitive, such as newborns, maternity, and wedding pictures. But for the safety of my clients and my entire community (including the teeny tiny babies at my hospital), photography has taken a backseat during this pandemic.
However, from the comfort of my home, I've been exploring some new ways to connect with current, former, and new clients to help find joy in these crazy times.
Introducing....2020 Silhouette Sessions!
Silhouette sessions are composited pictures using digital artwork that I created, combined with an image that YOU send me. I cut your image out, create a silhouette, and add it to my own artwork to create a piece of art that will help you celebrate special occasions that you might feel like you are missing out on!
Senior Graduation Image
Maternity Image
Graduation (mortarboard can be added to picture if you don't have one).
Mother's Day
Sports Seasons
Concerts
Just because a graduation is postponed, a concert is cancelled, or a sports season doesn't happen, it doesn't mean we shouldn't celebrate the accomplishments of everyone who has worked hard to be ready for those events.
I'm giving you the opportunity to create a special memory from this stressful time. If you are interested in having a 2020 Silhouette picture made, complete the google form found at the link at the bottom of this post. After I receive your information, I will email you instructions about how to take and send the picture to me. Turn around times will be pretty quick from the time I get your picture until the time I send you the link to your images- probably about a week or less (although I am anticipating a pretty robust response to this offer, so it may take a little longer.)
In the meantime, take time to celebrate!!
Sincerely,
